Ahrefs Brand Radar: Pricing, Checks and Query Method
Ahrefs Brand Radar is the AI visibility tool of Ahrefs Pte. Ltd. in Singapore, and it combines two products: custom prompt tracking and an index of prompts from the Ahrefs keyword database. Custom prompts start at $50 a month for 2,500 checks, where one check is one prompt on one AI platform in one location, about $20 per 1,000 checks. The AI index starts at $199 a month per platform. According to its help center, Ahrefs asks the web version of the chatbots without stored user data and queries Claude through the API. Ahrefs Brand Radar pricing in 2026
Brand Radar can be bought on its own, without an Ahrefs subscription, and it is priced in two parts. According to the Ahrefs pricing page, custom prompt packages cost:
- Basic: $50 a month for 2,500 checks, for example 80 prompts daily on 1 platform, overage $0.020 per check.
- Growth: $100 a month for 7,000 checks, for example 100 prompts daily on 2 platforms, overage $0.015 per check.
- Scale: $250 a month for 25,000 checks.
The AI index, called Brand Radar AI, costs $199 a month for one platform or $699 a month for all platforms. According to the Brand Radar help article, the all-platforms plan includes 2,500 custom prompt checks a month. The regular Ahrefs plans include a few checks too: Lite at $129 a month has 150 checks, which is 5 prompts daily on 1 platform. Without any plan, Ahrefs offers a free preview of your AI visibility.

Monthly price with monthly billing, as listed on the vendor’s pricing page. Per 1,000 answers uses the plan’s full quota: documented answers, or prompts times included engines times runs per month, in US dollars.
What a check costs per platform
At Ahrefs, every platform you add multiplies the checks. Each prompt on each selected platform and location uses one check per update. Claude is the exception: according to the Brand Radar page, it uses 8 checks per update, so one Claude prompt tracked daily needs 240 checks a month. Because you can switch prompts to weekly or monthly updates, the same 2,500 checks stretch over far more prompts.
What Brand Radar costs for typical setups
Because you split the checks freely across prompts, platforms and frequency, a custom prompt package covers the Start and Standard setups. The Agency setup needs 30,000 checks a month, more than the Scale package includes, and Ahrefs bills the rest as overage at the end of the month. Per setup, the overview names the package and its rank, using the same calculation as the AI visibility tools table.

Query method, location and data storage
Ahrefs documents its query method per platform. According to the help center, prompts run in the web version of each supported AI platform "without any stored user data or prior context", and responses are not normalized or filtered. Claude is the exception and runs through the API with Claude Sonnet 4.6 and web search. Grok is listed, but Ahrefs is temporarily unable to collect new Grok data because of a policy change at Grok.
For custom prompts, you set one or more locations per check as two-letter country codes, Germany included. Suggested prompts are generated in one language at a time. Where Brand Radar data is hosted is not stated.
The AI index works differently from custom prompts. Ahrefs turns questions from its keyword database into prompts, runs them on ChatGPT, Perplexity, Gemini, Copilot, AI Overviews and AI Mode, and re-tests the question sets monthly on a 90-day reporting window.
What Brand Radar includes
Sources, sentiment, share of voice, competitor comparison, prompt suggestions and fan-out queries are documented for Brand Radar. Pulling custom prompt data through the API does not use API units, and a Looker Studio connector is available. Export, white label and Search Console data are not documented for Brand Radar.
Ahrefs Brand Radar offers 8 of the 12 features, including 2 that fewer than half of the tools offer: Fan-out queries and Looker Studio / BI. For 4 features the provider does not say.

What Ahrefs leaves open
On 2 points, the Ahrefs pages disagree. The size of the prompt database is 519 million on the Brand Radar page, 475 million on the US pricing page, and 405 million or 350 million in the help center articles. The platform lists also differ: the Brand Radar page offers Claude for custom prompts, while the custom prompts help article lists Grok instead of Claude.
